Just a few more pix of our last week. It has snowed here over the past two weeks, like crazy. This snow picture is Christmas Eve and we have had lots more snow since then.

Happy Holidays
Drum Roll Please!!!!
The name drawn family gifts are finally drawn with exact, precise and confidential accuracy. Dad held the hat, Mom wrote the names and Dan pulled the names out of the hat, see how complex it all is. This is why it took so long to get it right. The names are as follows:
The Parents have- Jeremy's family
Bryce's family - Jakes fam
Lance's fam - Dan
Chris' fam - The parents
Jakes fam - Chris' fam
Jeremy's fam - Bryce's fam
Dan - Lances fam
Any questions? Oh yes, the price exacted this year (for those of you who responded to my email) decided $30 would be fine. Any further questions? No, Good. I would like all to have the gifts in the mail by the 5th of December so that everyone will have the family gift on time. Of course you may send earlier, but please not later. This worked out well last year and everyone got there gifts on time. Thank you so much. May YOU ALL have the most wonderfulest holiday season ever. We love you all and wish the very bestest to you!

Dan The Man
So we got word 8 days ago that Dan is going off to Job Corp to start his learning career. He will be leaving for Clearfield Utah on November 18th. We went shopping yesterday and have all new stuff and he is ready to go. I know he looks super happy in this picture but what can I say? He did tell me he didn't want the picture taken and I told him how much better the blogging is if I have a pix, so this is it. We will be taking him down on the 18th and then he will be able to come home the next week for Thanksgiving and then for a couple of weeks at Christmas. We will really miss Dan but want him to get on with his life and have a succesful career. This program allows him to go at his own speed, pretty much and choose from several different programs. The people there will assist him in finding a good fit for a job. Lets just pray he gets good roommates! Good Luck Dan!!!

The Population Increase
Well, Carina just called to say they had been to the Dr. and had an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby and see if all was well with the baby. So she told me the sex of the baby and that the measurements are right on for the middle of March. And the sex of the baby is......
You'll have to go to there blog and see!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!! You thought I would give out the big information that they want to share? This is so exciting. Maybe give them a call and visit for awhile I know they would love to hear from all of you. I also spoke to Amy this week and she is on target for the next big bruiser in December. Can't wait to see the new little ones and buy more Christmas outfits.

This is how the Parents keep busy
Well these are some miscellaneous pictures that we have taken over the past couple of months that I had not shared. Dan also wanted to dress up for Halloween, that is why he is in a diaper. I was supposed to work today and I thought I would dress up as a baby and so Dan dressed that way instead. I thankfully was put on call!

Fishy, Fishy in the Brook
Well, you all know Jeff went to Alaska for his annual fishing trip and as usual he had a great time. I just wanted to post some pix of his trip so we can all feel bad that we didn't get to go. Not really, they get up at 0345 every morning to sit in the dark and wait by there favorite fishing hole so no one else will take it then they fish for heck sakes until they have their fill. Sounds like fun huh?
This last picture is of the nicest restaurant in the area! Of course it is the only eatery in the area. At the end is an old bus and that is where they do the cooking. I wonder if they have health inspections in Alaska?
I'm just so glad Jeff is home and things are back to normal. Boy when your spouse goes away for a few days you sure appreciate him more when he comes back home. Welcome Home, Honey!!!

This was a really fun idea from Bryce's blog. I've been on a memory lane trip lately and thought it would be fun to remember some of the best times (or worst) times I've had with all of you. So, here's how the game works:1.As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Tooele '08
Now I know everyone thinks Lance & Jake play the Wii, but look at this shot ;) whose intent on winning the most? This is such a great shot of Caetie, I just couldn't resist
.
Masen & Alexis, what a couple of cutie pies.

With Jake doing all the work of pushing the kids. Now who's the favorite Uncle?
Here is Jeff, Dan, Jeremy and Lance shooting hoops.
Well, here we are with 4 of the boys and there families. What an awesome sight! These kids, all of them, are what living is for. What a great time we had getting together in Tooele. Maybe sometime in the near future we will try and do a family reunion somewhere fun with all the families. Hawaii, Orlando, Great Wolf Lodge, etc... So lets start saving our pennies and meet somewhere excitingly adventurous.

Jeff's fun things to do
Okay, so this was taken last week when the huckleberries were on. Jeff and I went picking and had the usual summer fun with huckleberry picking. I don't think Bryce and Lance were here in Idaho during this time of year, but the other boys should remember this favorite pasttime. Of course Jeff just loves to go and pick with the rest of us, 'cause we don't even like these berrries. So he gets to eat all of them. This was not many but Jeff will enjoy them this winter with ice cream. Doesn't he look happy!?! (or goosed?)

Gene & Brenda's visit
Well this is my oldest brother, Gene and his wife, Brenda. Gene was always a goof off when we were growing up and he still is. Every family should have a goof off 'cause it just keeps everything from being too serious. Friday night they came to our home and we had a T-bone steak dinner, from our own home grown cows and new red potatoes out of our own garden that Jeff slaves over. Mmm, mmm good. Jeff cooks those steaks to perfection. I have tried and always fail to get them just right. (It is always good to tell the husband how well he cooks so he will keep doing it) =-). Then Sunday night we went to the parents home and had the infamous spaghetti and garlic roll dinner. WOW was that good. Of course those were the best rolls my mom has ever made. (My dad always says this with each meal). But really they are always excellent. Bryce used to ask my mom to teach him how to make the garlic rolls, 'cause they were so good.
I did remember to take my camera and took this picture of us in the parents home. Turned out pretty good, huh. It is a rarity to have this many family members in the same place so I thought it best to record for future reference when I can't remember when we last got together. Ahh, Life is good. We will be traveling to Utah on the 15th of August and hopefully I will remember the camera and will have more pix then. We love you all and hope to see everyone in the near future.

A visit from Jeremy's family
What a beautiful little family!
Jeremy, Stephanie and Alexis spent this past weekend with us and it was great! She is growing so fast and what a cute little personality. She is such a good baby and well mannered. We sure do enjoy seeing each and every one of our children and their families. We also went to Chris and Carina's to play a game and get in the hot tub. Check out there blog for pix of that. What a blessing each and every one of our family members are to us. This summer we have been able to see every one of them in their own homes. It has been an awesome summer so far.
Nana and Papa with Alexis.
Dan also got his new car on Monday. What a great buy we got on it, too. He looks pretty sexy there on his hood. Now we just pray he will drive safely and that this car starts in the winter.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
I'm finally getting around to getting the blog updated since our last trip. And wow what a trip it was. This was really our first long car trip in the 24 years we've been married. It was grand! We went to Lance's home in Liberty, Missourri. Spent a couple of days in their home and then went to The Great Wolf Lodge and swam and ate and swam some more.
We also went to a Cardinals/Royals baseball game and watched the Cards get whooped badly. Lance was pretty pleased about that. Jeff was not.

We also went to this supposedly nice little park unaware of the lurking danger in the grass. Needless to say Jeff has a nasty itch and welts to remind him of his mission days when they had to take care of Chigger outbreaks on there legs. He refused to let me take pictures of his outbreak for fear it would dement all of you. The funny thing was he kept talking of his experiences on his mission with these ugly beasts and then he was the worst affected. Dan and I have only one or two places on us and they were very mild compared to Jeffs. Then of course the baby blessing for Masen Maverick Carter was just grand. What a privilege to be able to witness this blessed event. To see the Priesthood used in such a wonderful way. Lance did a great job and gave such a beautiful blessing. What a great summer for traveling. We have been very blessed the whole time. No storm disasters while we were gone and no one got sick during the trips.

Happy Fathers Day '08
Here are a few of our favorite fathers. The only reason our other favorite fathers are not in these pix is because they are not here. We love you all and thought you might like to see what we did for fathers day. Of course we always celebrate Jeffs b-day too on this day. Finally we even had decent weather!

Baby why don't we go to Key Largo...
Here we are in Key Largo, Florida! AHHHH!!! The sun, the breeze, the fishing and swimming and boy could I just keep on going. We had such a great time. My parents and brother David and his three sons were there with us. As you can see my fishing days may need a little tweaking. I don't know if I could survive if I had to fish for my dinner! Others on the trip did way better. Mmmm, Mmmmm. What a stud! He looks good as a fisherman.
This was part of our catch for the day. The big ones are Amberjacks, there meat is like the darker meat on turkey. It is good but not as good as the little fish hanging which are yellowtail tuna. They were really good and we caught several.
This is me, Miles and Marley, my nephews and the Manatees. Sorry you can't see them very well but they are related to the elephants, no they don't have trunks or legs, but there skin feels the same. They are an endangered species and we didn't know you weren't allowed to swim with them or give fresh water, which is what we are doing to keep them there. This was fun!
Ahhh, the evenings in Key Largo. The sunsets are beautiful, but not as pretty as Idaho's. We found this great outdoor restaurant and went there a couple of times to watch the sunset with dinner. The food was great! Needless to say I wanted to stay the rest of my life, and Jeff thought two weeks was too long for a vacation. Well it was fun while it lasted and of course the memories will last a lifetime.
Where to next? Let's all meet for dinner somewhere fabulous!
